Strategic implementation of ICT in schools meeting  
 
Purpose:   Meeting to address key strategic issues
Audience:  Headteachers, Principals, Wardens and/or Senior Leaders in Secondary Schools
 
Venue: Swavesey Village College, Swavesey    Date/Time: 10th March 4-6pm
 

We invite Headteachers, Principals and Wardens and/or Senior Leaders in secondary schools with responsibility for ICT to attend a meeting to discuss a range of important strategic issues.  The agenda topics to be covered are as follows:

 

·                    BSF: the way forward and ICT issues - Keith Grimwade

·                     Learning Platforms: Support for teaching and learning (Steve Howard - Swavesey VC)

·                     Personalisation by Pieces (funding opportunity) - Tim Daines

·                     Video Conferencing - Tim Daines

·                     E-safety - Gareth Davies

·                     Online Reporting to Parents - Matthew Nall.

 

During the meeting there will also be the opportunity to discuss any issues you might have.

Service Level Agreements 2009-10  
 
Purpose:    Notification of the new Service Level Agreement 2009-10
Audience:  Headteacher and School Secretary
 
All schools should have received a copy of the Service Level Agreement folder, via the School Courier service, for you to consider the extensive range of ICT options Education ICT Service are offering schools during 2009-10. 
 
Also included in the folder is a copy of our 2008 Annual Report: the facts and figures, which we hope will provide you with some interesting details about our work with schools.  We have also enclosed a second copy of the 2008 Annual Report, for the attention of your Chair of Governors and would appreciate if you would forward to them. 
 
Once you have made a decision on your school's requirements, to allow us time to make appropriate staffing arrangements for the new financial year, we would be grateful if you would return your sign-up form as soon as possible.

New Exchange email System 
 
Purpose:   Additional training available 
Audience:  Headteacher and Administrative staff
 
Since November 2008 the ICT Service has been migrating schools to the new Exchange email system. Many of you have completed the Evaluation Forms sent out after the migration and have expressed a need for training on the functionalities of the system. In response to this we are able to offer a number of training/problem solving sessions which will be tailored to respond to the needs of the attendees. Please note that these sessions are FREE of charge. Any training offered beyond these dates is likely to be chargeable.
 
Session dates and times are on the listed in the table below:

~ Managing emails
~ Managing contacts
~ Making appointments
~ Sharing your calendar with other members of staff
~ Creating and using a school shared calendar
~ Creating and managing distribution lists
~ Administering accounts e.g. for new users or resetting passwords
~ Accessing emails from home
~ Using a mobile device to access your emails and calendar
