Attention Centrally Hosted Schools - Data Protection - Dealing with Staff Leavers

Purpose:    Important Information  
Audience:  School Secretary
 

It is essential to contact the ICT Helpline immediately giving notification of any staff member leaving your school. Their accounts will need to be deactivated to maintain the security of your schools data. On no account must a new member of staff log on with the leavers account details.   
 
The ICT Helpline can deactivate or create CH user accounts but if your school has an assigned Administrator for the Central Hosting Admin Tool, please contact them immediately and they will be able to deactivate these accounts for you.


 
Cambridgeshire Young People's Film Festival 2009
 
Purpose: Important reminder
Audience: Headteachers and ICT Co-ordinators
 
Films are beginning to come in for the 2009 Film Festival on Thursday 9th July at the Cambridge Corn Exchange. They can now be viewed and voted on via our website: www.filmstarz.org.uk
 
Don't forget the final deadline for all films to be submitted is Friday 5th June.

Getting the most from Central Hosting
 
Purpose: Invitation

This FREE Workshop will help you get to grips with this new technology and the management of its impact and potential.

Strategic Implementation of ICT in Primary Schools
 
Purpose:   Meeting to address key Strategic Issues
Audience: Headteachers and / or Senior Leaders in Primary Schools with responsibility for ICT
 
Venue & Date: Park Lane Primary School, Whittlesey, Peterborough PE7 1JB -   Wednesday 20th May 4 - 6pm

For those colleagues who were unable to attend the ‘Strategic Implementation of ICT in Primary Schools’ meeting on 19th March at the Roundhouse School, we are repeating the meeting but at a different venue to give others opportunities to attend. We would recommend that the meeting is appropriate for the Headteacher and/or the member of your senior management team with responsibility for ICT. The agenda will cover a range of important strategic issues and is as follows:

  • BSF: the way forward and ICT issues – Keith Grimwade

  • Email including security/safety issues – Gareth Davies

  • Ofsted report on ICT – Paul Springford

  • Online Reporting to Parents – Matthew Nall

  • Starz version 2 – Gareth Davies

  • Leadership opportunities 09/10 – Gareth Davies.

During the meeting there will also be the opportunity to discuss any issues you might have.

Cambridgeshire Online Training Search (COTS) is a database of training opportunities provided by the Local Authority.  It can be accessed from any computer connected to the Internet without the need for a password; its powerful search engine will help you to find suitable courses.  Eventually, all providers will be using this database, please check the Providers list for the services currently represented.  You will already find the complete listing of courses offered by CAS, CREDS, SLS, Education ICT Service, ISSIS, Cambridgeshire Youth Work and Connexions.  Go to: COTS to access this service now.
