Foundation Stage Profile and Assessment on entry

 

Purpose:   Important Information

Audience: Nursery and Primary Headteachers

 

This term you will be required to submit Autumn A data for your Reception children.  An email was sent to your school on 1st September explaining the process, with some additional guidance notes to assist in this process. Target Tracker schools will receive further details next week.

 

There are also still spaces available on the following training courses: e Profile Getting Started on 11th & 19th September at ICT Service Godmanchester and 15th September at ICT Service, Cambridge Road, Waterbeach,  13.00 – 14.30 or 15.00 – 16.30. Starz News

The Starz team have been busy over the summer break planning lots of new projects for Starz subscribing schools.  Take a look at what is on offer by logging onto www.starz.org.uk, using your class account login, and follow the link to the Projects page.

Starz Blaster Sessions

 

Starz has grown and changed over the past few years, as a result the E-learning team are providing FREE after-school sessions for all schools and teachers that are new to Starz or those who need a reminder about the Online Learning Platform.  The team will be providing an overview of the platform, together with a brief outline of how to use it for collaborative work within your school and beyond.  Further details of venues and times can be found on the Starz site (Teachers’ stuff) or via the portal – Resource ID 4367

 

Starz Detectives

 

Starz Detectives is an online role play activity where pupils become ‘Starz Detectives’ solving real life problems with the help of experts from outside agencies.  Activities have been planned for the whole of the forthcoming year, details of which can be found on the Starz website or from the portal – Resource ID 4368  The first session is planned for Wednesday 24th September starting at 1.30pm and will explore the issues around social networking sites such as Bebo, Myspace and Facebook.

 


  

Family Learning in Cambridgeshire 
 
Purpose:   Extended Learning Opportunity
Audience: Headteachers & ICT Leaders
 
In partnership with Adult and Community Learning we are able to offer and deliver an exciting and FREE programme of activity which aims to develop the family learning relationship through the use of ICT as well as leading on to accreditation for the adults.  Schools have enjoyed the many benefits of this project to enhance extended learning, community involvement and school improvement . The programme includes multimedia and esafety and you can visit the website here Family Learning  or key word search the portal for 'Family Learning'

Naace Autumn Conference
 

Purpose:   CPD opportunity

Audience: ICT Subject Leaders


Naace is the professional association for those interested in advancing education through the use of ICT. The autumn conference takes place at the Coventry Techno Centre on Saturday 4th October 2008. The keynote speakers will be Becta's e-safety manager,Ruth Hammond, Fiona Aubrey-Smith of Uniservity and Mick Waters, Director of Curriculum at QCA. In addition there is an exhibition, and parallel workshops on gaming, real time reporting, handheld technologies and assessing pupil progress. Cambridgeshire Online Training Search (COTS) is a database of training opportunities provided by the Local Authority.  It can be accessed from any computer connected to the Internet without the need for a password; its powerful search engine will help you to find suitable courses.  Eventually, all providers will be using this database, please check the Providers list for the services currently represented.  You will already find the complete listing of courses offered by CAS, CREDS, SLS, Education ICT Service, ISSIS, Cambridgeshire Youth Work and Connexions.  Go to: COTS to access this service now.
