Reminder - Policy for Electrical work associated with your IWB/Projector installation

Purpose:    Important service information
Audience:  Headteacher and ICT Managers

Schools are reminded that when having Interactive White Boards (IWB) installed, the electrical installations (power sockets) need to comply with the current electrical regulations as per Becta and Education Property guidance, schools should not use an extended power cable simply plugged in to an existing socket in the classroom. You must use a qualified electrician who is at least ECA or NICEIC approved to install a switched socket adjacent to the projector, accommodating the plug with flexible cable to the projector.

For detailed information visit www.icttid.ccceducation.net > General Advice and Guidance Documents > Technical Specifications and measurements for IWB (PDF 162 KB)

Upon completion of the Electrical installation school should be issued with an ECA or NICEIC recognised test certificate as per Audit and Information Governance - Policy, Advice & Guidance Summary section 6.2 Policy for Electrical work associated with your IWB/Projector installation available by visiting www.icttid.ccceducation.net > General Advice and Guidance Documents > Audit and Information Governance - Policy, Advice & Guidance Summary
