Becta Self-Review Framework Workshop

Purpose:   Reminder - Spaces available - 1st October 2007
Audience: Secondary Schools - Headteacher and ICT Subject Leader

Book a FREE place for your ICT Subject Leader and/or member of the School's Leadership Team to take part in a workshop on the Becta Self-Review Framework for ICT on
1st October 1.30 - 4.45pm (lunch available from 12.45pm) at Education ICT Service, 42 West Street, Godmanchester, PE29 2HJ.

This is a chance to work with an adviser to concentrate on selected elements of the Framework. There is no charge,  thanks to additional funding received from Becta to increase the level of schools' engagement with SRF.

The Framework consists of eight elements:

        *       Leadership and Management
        *       Curriculum
        *       Learning and Teaching
        *       Assessment
        *       Professional Development
        *       Extending Opportunities for Learning
        *       Resources
        *       Impact on Pupil Outcomes.

For newcomers to SRF, the first half of the workshop will focus on the Leadership element. Working though the Framework will enable your school to identify areas of strength or areas that require further development.  Schools reaching a certain level on the Framework can then apply for the ICT Mark, the national quality accreditation.

More details can be downloaded from the Portal - Resource ID 3771.

Final opportunity for SLICT

Purpose:    Information from NCSL
Audience:  Headteachers

The Strategic Leadership of ICT (SLICT) programme comes to an end in March 2008, so this is your last chance to participate. Autumn programmes are almost full, but places are still available in the spring term. SLICT provides you with the strategic awareness you need to make e-learning a key part of your school, and helps you harness ICT to improve learning. The programme involves face-to-face learning sessions and a visit to a host school where ICT is a strength. Contact slictteam@ncsl.org.uk for further details or call Chris Matchett on 0845 609 0009.
