SIMS Accreditation for the ICT Service

Purpose:    For Information
Audience:  SIMS Users

We have learned this week that we have had our accreditation renewed by Capita.  The online survey covered training, helpdesk, technical support and value for money.  Overall scores improved since the last survey done 2 years ago, with the scores across the board averaging 5 on a 6-point scale.  Thank you to all schools that took part in the survey and thanks also for all your comments, both praise and criticism, which will all be helpful to us in continuing to improve the quality of our services to you.

Harnessing Technology - Transforming Learning

ICT Conference for School Leaders 21st June 2006

Purpose:    Diary reminder and further information

Audience:  Leadership teams

The full agenda is now available on our portal webpage.

This year's conference will be held at Robinson College, Cambridge. Two compelling keynote speakers have now been confirmed:

  • Tim Rylands - Winner of the 2005 Becta ICT in Practice Award - "an inspirational teacher, with a love of the creative potential of technology"; and
  • Professor John C Adams - Chair of the National Association of School Governors.

A full programme of workshops is being planned and will be circulated to schools shortly.  This will include an extended afternoon session for secondary heads on Building Schools for the Future, with Steve Moss, Education ICT Adviser at Partnerships for Schools. (PfS is responsible for delivering BSF, the government′s secondary school renewal programme.)

As usual, headteachers are encouraged to attend for the whole day. Where this is not possible, another member of staff is welcome to take their place for the afternoon workshops.  Attendance is free for Cambridgeshire headteachers. This year a limited number of places will be available for Chairs of Governors or ICT Link Governors.

We would advise that you book early to avoid disappointment.  To reserve your place please contact ict.courses@cambridgeshire.gov.uk or telephone 01480 376670.
