ICT Conference for School Leaders 21st June 2006

Purpose:    Diary reminder and further information

Audience:  Leadership teams

The agenda is now available on our portal webpage.

This year's conference will be held at Robinson College, Cambridge. Two compelling keynote speakers have now been confirmed:

  • Tim Rylands - Winner of the 2005 Becta ICT in Practice Award - "an inspirational teacher, with a love of the creative potential of technology"; and
  • Professor John C Adams - Chair of the National Association of School Governors.

A full programme of workshops is being planned and will be circulated to schools shortly.

As usual, headteachers are encouraged to attend for the whole day. Where this is not possible, another member of staff is welcome to take their place for the afternoon workshops.  Attendance is free for Cambridgeshire headteachers. This year a limited number of places will be available for Chairs of Governors or ICT Link Governors.

We would advise that you book early to avoid disappointment.  To reserve your place please contact ict.courses@cambridgeshire.gov.uk or telephone 01480 376670.

Purpose:    How to get personalised information about relevant new portal resources
Audience:  All School Staff

Resources on the portal can be found by searching using a built in search engine or by drilling down through the education categories we call Themes.

Now there is a third way of finding out what's new on the Portal.

A link on the front page of the Portal invites you to "Tell me about new resources by email." This facility provides you with a personalised weekly update on any new Portal Resources you are interested in.

You choose the categories you're interested in. They're the same categories we use for our Themes. So if you're interested in the latest ICT resources or resource updates for governors, just click on "Tell me about new resources ..." and select your Themes from a choice of two hundred.

Whenever there's anything new you'll get an email, just one each week, giving a description of the resource and a link to the whole thing. No adverts, no hidden messages, just a description and a link. Visit it now or later, it will stay in your in tray for whatever email address you choose.
