The latest Sims .Net version is 7.62 with a database build of 3.61.198. Capita have advised us that those of you who upgraded to this version prior to the 15th November should re-run the SOLUS upgrade again because regrettably the AMPARK files were deployed to the incorrect folder. Please remember to do full SIMS back ups prior to this update. Apologies for the obvious inconvenience caused.
Resources are now on the Portal to download to aid you with the preparation for PLASC/Census 2006. Please type 'Sims Home Page' from the Portal Home Page, or search for resource ID: 2318.
Education ICT Service IT, Procurement and Efficiency Strategies aim to deliver the best value and quality services to all school users. Recent examples have highlighted the need to remind schools if they are not purchasing through the Education ICT Service Procurement Team based at Waterbeach, Schools Contract Regulations will apply if you decide to seek quotations from other suppliers.
All suppliers invited to quote must be issued with exactly the same information at the same time and subject to the same conditions. All quotations must be received by a specific date. The details of this quotation must not be shared with any other suppliers. Any attempt to pass this information to other suppliers will be in breach of Contract Regulations.

As we informed you earlier this term, the filtering system on the schools internet feed is to be changed shortly. Testing of the new system is underway and it is due to be implemented before 15th December. Please watch out for an e-mail announcement which will tell you when the new system goes live.
We will also be issuing more detailed information about the new system, which is called Protex, at a later date.
Initially, the new system may prove more restrictive than the current regime. If you encounter any non-urgent problems as a result of the Protex system, please report them by e-mail to ict.helpline@cambridgeshire.gov.uk. Urgent filtering issues can still be raised directly in the usual way.
