E2BN
are carrying out upgrades of the Core filtering servers in the Data Centre in
Cambridge. This is to take account of ageing hardware and capacity increases
dictated by E2BN LA Internet link upgrades.
Impact:
There
will be no Internet access throughout that day. Access to Centrally Hosted
systems and email will remain unaffected.
Programme
of work:
Filter
Servers: Add 1 x 50Mbs server
Cache
Servers: Remove 3 x older 50Mbs IBM
e326 series. Install 3 x next generation IBM x3455 100Mbs capacity
each.
Loadbalancers
- replace x 2 with higher
throughput models.
Final
Array Capacity : 150Mbs + 50Mbs redundant - based on filter
capacity.
