ToPP Frequently Asked Questions
Marksheets
Q. Why can’t I see the new SIP analysis marksheets?
A. You haven’t created them yet. To do this click Focus/Assessment/Templates and search for Y6 Sip/open the template/click link ‘3 Marksheets’/New/Expand Year Group/Tick Y6 and Save. Repeat for other years. (If there is no ‘Y6 ToPP Sip Analysis’ template, you need to import the latest ToPP templates – see the portal resource 2630.)
Q. Why can't I enter a wc, wb, wa?
A. From September the ToPP policy recommends that W is used for tracking purposes and that, where appropriate, P Levels should be used.
Q. I can’t see ‘Value Added’ figures on my marksheets.
A. Click ‘Calculate’ and ‘Save’
Q. I can’t see average grades at the bottom of the marksheets.
Tracking Grids
Q. I’ve clicked populate on expectation grids but it’s not showing pupils in the right places.
A. You have not chosen the correct ‘Result Set’ for rows and columns. Please see helpsheets on the portal resource 2630.
Q. I’m using the new Sip ToPP 2 levels progress grid to see English progress, have clicked populate and nothing happens.
A. You haven’t calculated English levels before running the grids. To do this, open up the Y6 ToPP Sip Analysis marksheet, calculate and save. Now run the grid again.
Q. I’ve clicked populate and nothing happens.
A. Look at the bottom left of the screen – it could be that no such results exist.
Q. The names are too small on the tracking grids.
A. Click ‘Actions/Larger font’ – repeat if necessary.
Q. I want to change the format of the names showing on grids but can’t.
A. Click Tools/Performance/Analysis/Define analysis settings.
Q. I’ve run the Year Group Tracking Grid and the pupil names are in the wrong place
A. This grid is unique in that it picks up the most recent assessment recorded on the system. ‘Most recent’ is determined by the ‘Result Date’ associated with the assessment you’ve entered. If pupil names are in the wrong place it could be that you’ve been catching up on historical data entry. To prevent this in future, before entering historical data on a marksheet, change the result date to when the assessment was made, enter data and then save.
