Computrace for Laptops is a theft protection service that tracks, locates and recovers stolen laptops. Undetectable and irremovable software installed works behind the scenes to silently and securely contact the Computrace Monitoring Centre, and if stolen, reports its location.
The Computrace Recovery Team then tracks your laptop and partners with local police to get your laptop back.
What you get
A school that is adopted as a Computrace site will receive 2 x notice boards and the required amount of A5 size Vinyl Window Stickers.*
Schools buying into this initiative will benefit from having to pay no insurance excess in the event that a Computrace equipped computer is stolen during a break in.
Requirements
A minimum of 70% of a school's laptops must have Computrace installed to qualify as a Computrace site.
Only designated Education ICT Service staff are authorised to install Computrace
Cost
The cost for Computrace for 3 YRS is £45 per laptop from ICT Service Procurement team.
When ordering new laptops with installation, Computrace installation and registration included in the price
Installation cost for Computrace in retrospect** will amount to £200 per site for approximately a half a day's work***
* To be fitted in a visible area by the school
** Recommended that laptops/kit not be older then 3 years
*** Subject to laptops all being available on site at the time of installation and the amount of laptops involved.
