Assessing ICT Capability

'Assessment for Learning is the process of seeking and interpreting evidence for use by learners and their teachers to decide where the learners are in their learning, where they need to go and how best to get there.'

Assessment for learning, formative in nature, is concerned with day-to-day classroom interactions and feedback that are focused on the learner and sensitive to his or her individual needs.

Assessment of learning tends to be summative and is concerned with determining how much individuals or groups have learned, at what level, and how well. It is important to analyse this assessment information and use it to plan next steps for pupils.

The following materials have been provided to support teachers in their use of the ICT Progression in Capabilty Materials and meet the requirements of the National Assessment agenda.
